Home in Pasadena
My Ewa, come sit beside me and let me talk to you,
During my visit to Britain, I happened to hear some music with a 1920 era American sound, playing many old standards of those prohibition times. The group was the Pasadena Roof Orchestra and they released an album in 1961 with 45 songs of the early 20th century. These were popular songs when my grand parents were young, like ‘Home in Pasadena, Lullaby of Broadway, Singing in the Rain, As Time Goes By, Georgia on My Mind, I’ll See You Again and The Charleston’. To hear American songs in a foreign country stirs melancholy in a heart longing for home. As I write tonight, I’m listening to that album and thinking of you, us and the life our Lord God has promised for us. No-one knows better than you and myself that all things are not as they seem. Jesus told his disciples that he would be left alone to face the cross but that he wasn’t alone because his Father was with him. We have that promise from God, (that He will never leave us alone) for we are His and He will ever abide with us. I also pledge my love to you again tonight, that I will always love you and stand with you in all that God gives us to do and in everything we can do together which glorifies God. There has always been good music because the spirit of God has manifested itself in song to every generation. I sing often in joy for you put a song in my heart just by being you. Thank you my sweet for sharing our home with your devoted husband. We could be at home in Pasadena and that would suit me fine. Home is where you are for where you are, I am and when we are together that is home indeed. These old songs stir new desire and dedication to you and the hopes, dreams and plans we share. You’re lovely in the morning with the sun shining through our bedroom window and you’re beautiful as you sleep with the moonlight glistening in your hair. I am blessed to have you.
Always in need of your affection, Kochany
