When We Fear the Lord, Serve Him and Obey His Voice
My Kochana, who fears, serves and obeys our Lord,
As servants of the Most High God, we often wonder why our elected, appointed or self-proclaimed leaders are self serving, self-centered and unconcerned about those who suffer from evil, misguided policies. They are derelict in their god-given responsibilities, duties and evil intentions (programs, legislation or regulations diametrically opposed to the immutable, righteous and holy principles of the eternal, Most High God). Many uninformed, uneducated (in the higher knowledge of God Almighty in Jesus Christ His Son) and evil men blame our holy and righteous God for the legislative, judicial, executive, physical and spiritual malaise that rules over the nations. But who is the real culprit? Who is responsible? What is the root cause of abuse of power, in every nation, by the ruling class? Alas, it is the people of God! We are not fully aligning our will with the Law of Moses and the Law of Grace which came through Jesus Christ, the living, resurrected Son of God Most High. We fail to remember that the Most High God is our King! We must always look to Him for our daily needs and guidance. Our Leaders are a function of the rebellion of the citizens of each nation against God. In I Samuel 12:14 we are told, “If you will fear the LORD and serve Him, and listen to His voice and not rebel against the command of the LORD, then both you and also the king who reigns over you will follow the LORD your God. 15“If you will not listen to the voice of the LORD, but rebel against the command of the LORD, then the hand of the LORD will be against you, as it was against your fathers.” These verses show us that our leaders (kings) are restricted in governance by the holiness, righteousness and truth of those they govern. Our leaders are subject to the authority of God, who is a vanguard for his people, demanding leadership, governance and compassion deserving of the obedience of his people. God will cause our leaders (even the ungodly) to bless his people and do good to the nation. It is written in Proverbs 21:1, “In the LORD’s hand the king’s heart is a stream of water that he channels toward all who please him.” In I Samuel 12:22, it is written, “For the LORD will not abandon His people on account of His great name, because the LORD has been pleased to make you a people for Himself.” The Prophet Samuel admonished the Israelites,”Do not fear. You have committed all this evil, yet do not turn aside from following the LORD, but serve the LORD with all your heart. 21“You must not turn aside, for then you would go after futile things which can not profit or deliver, because they are futile. We find great hope and promise in this verse because the unmatched grace of God the Father promises forgiveness and a fresh start when we return to his righteous ways. It is then that we remember the great things God has done for us, I Samuel 12:24 “Only fear the LORD and serve Him in truth with all your heart; for consider what great things He has done for you.” Again it is written in II Chronicles 7:14, “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” It all depends upon us. We must be obedient. Only blessing and good can manifest in our life when we fear the Lord, serve Him and obey His voice in all that we think, say and do. Let us be obedient servants of God that we may enjoy the blessings, benefits and pleasures of serving Him in holiness, righteousness and truth. When we walk in truth and obedience, then God will walk with us and in His presence no harm will befall us. Let us never forget the warning of the Prophet Samuel, (I Samuel 12:25 “But if you still do wickedly, both you and your king will be swept away.” Our leaders (kings) will serve us when we fear the Lord, serve him daily and obey (only) His voice.
Let us walk with God and know that Our God Reigns in Heaven and on Earth, Kochany
