Truth Is a Compass

My Kochana Eve,
That your parents survived the German occupation and the following 30 year Russian tyranny is astounding. When the Polish were invaded, they were young and inexperienced in the dangers, fears, deceptions and torture of war. They could observe the confusion and correctly ascertain the best solution. They learned quickly to defeat force by avoiding planned or surprise confrontations. They devised methods of delivering shoes or purchasing leather under the noses of their captors. They learned how and when to be subservient without submitting to the will of their captors.They knew that success required perfect timing and coordinated their plans accordingly. They found the weakness in the Nazi net of surveillance and evaded discovery. When opportunity presented itself, they instantly sprung into action. They perceived who could be trusted and who would betray them to the gestapo or KGB. They knew where to hide valuables, when to move them and how to exchange them. They recognized the truth from propaganda, lies and deception of the Nazis and communists. They were never deceived because they recognized the truth. It is written, “You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free”. They escaped the gauntlet because they knew the truth when they heard it.  Truth is a compass which will always lead you true. If you have never known the truth, you will know it when you hear it. When you know truth it must become a living precept, ingested into your mind and available for future reference to lead you to more knowledge and understanding. When God evicted Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden, He put Cherubim at the Gate to forbid entrance with a flaming sword (the truth, the Word of God). It prohibited entrance into the presence of God by lies, deception and evil. Antoni and Antonina could have been secret agents. They were alive because they had the same acumen, assessment skills and awareness of the events around them required of an undercover agent. The pathway of life is paved with the truth of God. Those who love truth, love the Most High God. Antoni and Antonina loved their family. They hated the false doctrine of their overlords. God hated that same false doctrine. We are supposed to hate those things that God hates. Psalm 139: 21-24 says,

“21Do I not hate those who hate you, Lord,

“20They speak of you with evil intent; your adversaries misuse your name”

Because they walked in truth and hated evil, God delivered them from the destruction intended to annihilate the servants of the Most High God. Truth is a compass which will lead us to freedom and eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, the Son of the Most High God.
