Cape Kennedy and Eve

Dear Eve,

Ten years ago I visited the exhibits of the Space Center at Cape Kennedy alone. As we planned our vacation, I suggested that we tour the Space Center since you had not seen the exhibits. Upon arrival, we chose the 3 stop bus tour and immediately boarded our ride for the first stop. As we stepped off of the bus, the space shuttle Discovery sat in launch position with the huge solid rocket fuel tank and booster rockets. Cape Kennedy was in countdown mode with blast off scheduled 3 days later. Our new camera snapped some excellent views and displays plus the personal photos depicting special moments and points of special interest.
After the tour, we set off to the Imax and then as we end all tours, wandered over to the gift shop. I sat down at a picknik table outside, but you were in launch mode with new found energy at the sight of the souvenier shop. Though I feel that if you’ve seen one shop, you’ve seen all shops, I know that you do not subscribe to that philosophy. I waited for about twenty minutes before ambling in to sort of move things along. There you were, fixated on toy space shuttles for the children. I suggested tee shirts with the NASA logo and Cape Kennedy inscription which you agreed would be great gifts. There is as much focus in your efforts to equal a hydrogen bomb were it possible to convert your concentration into atomic energy.
You love me with that same intense focus. I love you the same way. Our love has its own energy and when we’re together it’s just like you, my Eve, in the gift shop; fixated upon one another, eager for the next sequence of events and opportunities. We enjoy life together and being together makes every day just like a trip to Cape Kennedy.
