This Side of the Horizon
My sweet Eve, who perceives my thoughts before I think them,
When we survey the expanse between us and the horizon, it is very common to imagine or even suppose that we could and would act, think or be different than our present state of being. The capability of the mind to transport into another dimension of existence apart from the limitations of the mind and spirit within the boundaries of the physical body, is evidenced by the human need to occasionally escape the status quo for the ethereal realm of imagination. From birth we posessess the innate ability to project ourselves into quasi-real environments we conjure up to fill a creative script or narative. Authors, playwrites, song writers, poets, painters, scupltors and dancers produce works of art via this mechanism. Works of art require this out of body operation of the mind, soul and spirit of man. It is an outreach of the psyche beyond the horizon of conventional reasoning.
Art is but one form of creation and it is obvious that all forms of creation require thinking beyond the horizon of the known. We reason and imagine from the known to the unknown. It follows that the unknown is reality which is merely not revealed to us and assimilated into our working understanding of our environment. Creativity for man is logic on the revealed side of the horizon of understanding extending and penetrating the void of fact and connecting the unknown to the known. This exercise of extention and penetration of the knowledge horizon is faith. All men possess this innate ability (faith) at birth. During infancy small children learn, trust and believe their parents and learn to be independent. Unfortunately, faith naturally dissapates as self sufficiency abounds. Man becomes his own God when honest thought would reveal the increased need for the wisdom, knowledge and understanding of the Most High God.
Adam was formed of the dust of the earth by God and placed along with his wife in the Garden of Eden. He fell from grace and sinned because he failed to look beyond the horizon of his meager thought capacity. At the time of temptation, when he should have looked to God for an answer, he looked instead at the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil through the eye gate (lust of the eye) as magnified through the lens of the ‘pride of life’ which was spawned in the ‘lust of the flesh’. When they ate of the forbidden fruit, they disobeyed and perverted their bodies which were created to glorify God the Father. The original couple failed to see along with all following generations that obedience to the commands, instructions and laws of God were the means to seeing the righteous solution from this side of the horizon of understanding.
Eve, my Kochana, may we ever strive to obey the leading of our Lord Jesus Christ as he guides us toward and beyond the horizon of our physical limitations. It is certain that He loves us and blesses our home with His presence. Be it good times or bad, my prayer is that we are safe in the center of His will. If we obey Him, we will surely know Him. Then we will be with Him, in Christ forever.
May God open our minds to His mysteries that we may teach others, Kochany
