Paparazzi at Tracy Arm Fjord

My Eve, who cleaves to our God Most High and me,

We rose early on our 5th day, eating an early breakfast bringing our warm jackets. Our captain announced that this was another 100% visibility day. (this was his first such experience in 20 years of Alaska voyages) The mountains were 6,000 to 7,000 feet high and we could clearly see the heights and the waters with no fog or clouds. The waters in the fjord were 1000 feet deep. We had mild winds and the morning chill was pleasant in the morning sun. The decks were filled with passengers snapping photos of the mountains, small sight seeing boats, water falls, another Princess cruise ship passing us going back to sea, and a mountain goat grazing on a cliff near the summit.  My Ewa was front and center with her camera capturing every sight. She was the paparazzi at Tracy Arm fjord that morning. I had my iphone 5 camera and I joined her. We snapped photos of each other at strategic sights and other passengers would graciously snap pictures of us together. It was a love fest of photography as we thoroughly enjoyed the views we came to see in the rare 100% visibility. As we voyaged up stream, the fjord narrowed and we approached the Sawyer Glaciers at the end of the fjord. Ewa feared that the waters were too narrow for our ship but the Captain navigated as close as reasonably possible. Then to our amazement, the ship was spun 360 degrees. It appeared that the bow or the stern were sure to hit  one side of the mountain or the glacier. What a thrill! One gentleman told us that he and his wife were visiting Alaska for the 7th time and this was the first time they were able to see the mountain tops. All that we had read in books or seen in movies were eclipsed by this visit  to the scenic views of Alaska. The majesty of those mountains and the grandeur of the glaciers were photographed by my Ewa the paparazzi of Tracy Arm Fjord that day.

I love my precious paparazzi, kochany
