Love Like the Eagles’ Flight

Today was an uneventful day and as I sat at the scenic overlook the valley and river displayed itself in the bright brilliant hues of summer. People were jogging, walking, picnicking, cycling and leisurely enjoying the pleasant weather. Life is good, but I miss you when we’re apart. Do you miss me too? When you phoned you sounded tired. I realized that you called because you love me and my heart swelled with love. It is my hope that you are rejuvenated by my calls like your calls revive my soul. It is astounding how just the sound of the voice of your one true love can turn despair to hope, pain to elation and gloom to exhilaration. As I lift my eyes to the sky, an eagle soars above on the wind currents in effortless majesty. How like an eagle is our love. As the eagle ages it flies higher and higher. Our love lifts us higher and higher with each passing year. Our love sustains us when we are apart, uplifts us when we come together and replenishes us as we live each God given moment in Christ. It is the gift of a tender and understanding Heavenly Father to understand His ways with His people. Here is a mystery. As our love grows deeper and deeper that is the spiritual equivalent of flying higher and higher. We can be certain that our all knowing Teacher will give us deeper knowledge which translates into higher and higher understanding. As surely as we love our God and each other more and more, it is equally certain that we have, do and will share and experience love like the eagles’ flight.
