It Had to Be You

The more we chatted, the lunches on and off site, those hanging conversations when we discussed half of the subject but had to return to work, all those blessed minutes and hours brought the realization that it had to be you. We often wait what seems an eternity living half empty without that soul which satisfies to overflowing. The days we car pooled, those times we approached the coffee machine simultaneously and shared pleasantries which were much more than friendly, the interest you showed in my personal history, only proved it had to be you. The peculiar way I became tongue tied when we talked and always forgot the lines I rehearsed to impress you, was because I knew in my heart that it had to be you. It had to be you because of the way I felt when we were together, and yearned to be with you when we were apart.
I am happy to say that you are mine now and forever. You are mine and I am yours because the span of my life before God brought you to me lacked something; I knew not what. But like Adam when God caused a deep sleep to fall upon him and took one of his ribs to create a helpmate and wife for him, I was thrilled and joyfully received the woman he created and brought to me. I asked God to bring my Eve to me and when he brought you my Ewa, it had to be you because it was His plan for us. I have learned that Gods’ plan is without flaw and because his plan is perfect, it had to be you.
