Giving Gifts
Dearest Ewa, my greatest gift of all gifts,
We never meet a plane without flowers, candy or some other welcoming gift for our guest. When arriving at a friends’ home for a visit, a gift for our hosts is a necessity. All special occasions are made more special with the presentation of a gift. Even though this was new to me, it was pleasantly received on my part when Kochana introduced her custom early in our relationship. She and her family, friends and countrymen give gifts, which adds meaning and emphasis to the event and gathering by expressing advance appreciation at the moment of welcome and meeting. The token of thanks elevates the hospitality and outreach of a host and expresses our joy in the arrival of our friends. Kochana is a great giver of gifts. On a personal level, she gives of herself beyond all reasonable definitions of self-sacrifice. When she loves you, her best is your constant and continual treatment. She makes me feel like a king because she treats me like a king. Not that I rule over her, but rather she elevates me to that level in respect, love and kindness. Her outreach to me inspires my own like return of devotion and dedication and I in turn treat her like my Queen. Kochana gave her greatest gift to me when she gave herself to me in perpetuity. Her love is the ultimate gift that keeps on giving, second only to the greatest love of God the Father, His Son Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. Her giving emulates that of the Holy Trinity. God through her has taught me much regarding the giving of gifts.
You are continually a gift to me, Kochany
