American Women Win World War II on the Home Front

Precious Eve, always willing and able to do your part,

The Evansville Shipyard in Evansville, Indiana faced a severe shortage of manpower during World War II. With most young men in the armed services overseas, American industry looked  to women to fill the gap on the assembly lines of factories.  The LST troop and tank carrier ship was a new war weapon designed to land an army on the beaches of Normandy and was a strategic advantage for the Allies fighting the despotic Axis powers in the effort to liberate conquered nations of representative governments. Evelyn W Cox was the first woman welder hired at the Evansville Shipyard. Women were instrumental to the success of the home front effort. It was the ability of America to win the manufacturing war which ultimately led to the victories of our armies on the battle field. American soldiers were better equipped and supplied enabling superior performance. Today the ability of women in the workplace is accepted and expected. Throughout history, women have been essential to the success of nations and an essential part of the fabric of every society. They were and still remain the glue which holds the family and our nation together.

It’s good to see a photo of one of the many heroes of the past who helped mold our country into a bastion of freedom. Since Adam, every man has known the importance of his woman in his life. When God took a rib from Adam, He did it because Eve was one with her husband emanating  from the heart of Adam (the seat of his being), the essence of God and man His creation.  Our God made the world and all that is in it for mankind. However, He created man for himself to commune with and have sweet interaction. Your man readily acknowledges your importance in his life. I can’t imagine my life without you. Your willingness to share the burden with me and reap the rewards together is like the American women who shouldered responsibility and served their country with hard work at home while others served on foreign soil.
