A Poncho for Kochana
For my Eve,
Today as my daily walk took me by The Limited, a high fashion store for women, I looked for the poncho which had caught my eye each day in the display window. I had checked the price once and it was quite expensive. It was not that Kochana was not worthy of an expensive garment of its’ type, for I had determined that I would buy it for her. The reason she would not purchase the poncho was because she is very frugal with our money. Almost to a fault, she thinks out each expenditure and has a tendency to think of herself last. With this in mind I had decided to surprise her before dinner with a new item of clothing. I knew she would like the color and the style. The garment which looked good on the mannequin would look spectacular on her. She beams when trying on a new item of clothing and she would be enthused with this gift. She deserves to be surprised with special gifts on occasion for no other reason than I love her and want to buy those things for her which she won’t buy for herself. No bargain rack for Kochana today. I shall buy her the best and be pleased to see her don it for the first time. On our vacation she must have some new clothes. She will look smashing walking by my side. She will know what to wear with the poncho to do herself and me proud. Am I pleased to be her man? You bet I am. And so now as I think about her and the pleasure we will share in Florida, my mood is one of happines, for today I spared no expense and bought an expensive poncho for Kochana.
The blessings of Christ abide with you always, Kochany
