It’s the statement that summarizes every reason my soul cleaves to you; because I love you. It isn’t an excuse for any of the silly things I do to please you. It is simply the one explanation which makes reason of irrational behavior. Why do I worry about the woman who is seemingly in control of every situation. It’s not only because you need me to care but it is also necessary for me to know that I am protecting you as much as is humanly possible. Your need is my duty. Your importunity is my opportunity to do for you that which pleases me above all measure simply because it pleases you. It’s true that you are only a woman, but I shutter to think of the effect if you were of greater stature. And yet there is no greater stature than to give reason, purpose and justification to another who loves you just as you are and for what you make of him. So my darling when your man awkwardly extends love, affection or gifts please understand that I do all things because I love you.
