Claiming the Prize

My gift of God, Eve,

Everyone has a prize which stimulates interest and desire. An infant strives to achieve in every act from talking to crawling to walking to mastering the alphabet etc. As one matures to childhood, then adolescence, young adult, adult and senior, fewer and fewer prizes are esteemed. Often the highest goals (prizes) are set aside as unachievable or not worth the effort to attain. So why do adults and seniors lose the drive to achieve and attain the great prize? Aside from the additional responsibilities consuming enormous chunks of expendable time, we lose sight of the higher calling. The young of each generation gallantly herald grandiose schemes and ideals which gradually crumble with the passing years. As the vigor and idealism of youth yield to reason, experience and common sense, the prize falls by the wayside. This is why zeal dissipates and a daily routine begins to control our day and unfortunately our thoughts. Tragically it is when our thoughts become dead to challenge and imagination that we find that our spirit, mind and soul are in fact captive and imprisoned by the delusion that the prize is no longer attainable.
Knowing these facts the man who loves you attests to my daily quest to understand and love you more each day. You are my great prize on earth, second only to our Lord Jesus Christ. It is written in Proverbs Chapter 22, ‘he who finds a wife finds a good thing.’ Let me say a hardy ‘amen’ to that.
Scripture is acurate and it quickens us with encouragement and expectation of a Creator who planned an interactive environment between God and man. Adam lost sight of the prize. When we lose sight of the prize, we always fail to claim it. The prize is and always has been ours for the taking, we have only to claim it. The prize must be earned but He (God) who caused us to aspire to a given prize can and will give us the strength, wisdom and ability to acquire it.
So Kochana, let us claim the prize of Christ in his glory and our love as He has provided. When He looks at our relationship let Him behold us claiming the prize He has given us.

The blessings of the Most High God be upon, within and about you, Kochany
