Cleaning Our Home Before Entertaining Family
Dear Eve, woman of the house,
You always do it and my perpetual response is, “Why are you cleaning an already spotless home? You have all the planning, shopping and preparation for our guests which must be done. The added work of cleaning an already immaculate house depletes your energy and exhausts you.” You listen, but still insist that our home be super clean for our guests. You let me vacuum (it’s one task which her man does better than she) but trust yourself more than me to attend to the dust pockets and slightly tarnished silver in our home which only you know about and nobody will see. There are some things which a man will never understand and must accept about the woman who holds his heart and yet needs his love and affection. She expends extra effort to make our home a reflection of our values and life style. You are (and have always been) an activist in our home and marriage. Upon reflection, it is plain to see that you influence me in a better and improved direction. When you peer into my eyes, lay her hand delicately upon my unshaven face and kiss me tenderly you are suggesting that a I should shave. When you are cooking dinner and discover that we have no butter, I spring into action and swiftly go to the store. When I am reading the paper and you relate your concern about the children or our finances, that’s my que to set the paper aside, discuss the issues and comfort you. Your comfort is soothing to my soul. It is balm to my spirt. (Holy Heavenly Father, be not angry with me because I love this woman to this degree. Did you not create, design and fashion her to meet my needs and passion?) Today my lovely Kochana is weary and tired and recovering from her work of the Easter weekend. Most High God open my eyes and make me responsive to every unmet need and doubt in her marvelously active mind and delicate heart. Holy Father, give me the insight and understanding required to accept all those lovely and intriguing aspects of my Eve which I love but do not understand like cleaning our home before entertaining family and friends.
Because God loved us He gave us His Son, Kochany
