‘Hi Kochany. This is me,” she says, “I’ve just returned from church and from a garage sale. So I have some trophies and I’m going on the lake and I will have my cell phone with me. Love you. Give me a call. Talk to you later.” I chuckle to myself for my Ewa is forever the bargain hunter. It is astounding what she can find at an estate sale, community sale or garage sale. When I get home, she’ll insist on showing me each and every deep discount item. It’s beyond my understanding how she knows when she buys an item exactly where it will go in the house or the person to whom she will give it. She is a complicated work of art. To me she is a masterpiece who called to my heart without speaking a word. She posessed amazing power with me the instant we met. She makes a mundane event like a garage sale of interest to me. The gleam in her eyes, the excitement in her voice, and her satisfaction is transferred to me through watching her, listening to her exhilaration and sharing her pleasure. This is the only way I could ever enjoy a garage sale. My Kochana makes me happy and she expands my capacity for fun. She’s never dissuaded by my reluctant foot dragging. She knows that in time she’ll get past my hard head.
Her love for me enables me to see more clearly the love of God in His creation. He gave us to each other to protect, provide for and treasure as He treasures, protects and provides for us. How like the love of God is our love for the one we love. In love we emulate our creator and become more like Him as we grow in love. Gods’ children are his trophies. Each one of us is a unique trophy to God. I’m grateful that Ewa is a my trophy and I know by her ceaseless expressions of affection that I am her trophy. This is my greatest earthly source of peace, joy and contentment, to be a living, loving, caring trophy in the precious heart of my Ewa.You are my lifetime trophy whom I treasure in my heart, Kochany
