The festivities begin with Thanksgiving Day celebration with turkey, all the trimmings and my favorite cranberry sauce. But it doesn’t stop there. The season has only begun for the day after Thanksgiving I hang the Christmas lights outside and my Kochana pulls out the Christmas tree, all the associated ornaments and the nativity scene. We spend the day decorating the house, the tree and eating leftovers through the weekend. We pull out all our Christmas CD’s and listen to to them as we work. Some traditions are always fresh and invigorating. Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years and the twelve days of Christmas lift spirits and fill our day with anticipation and joy. I enjoy being with you as you move about the house trimming the tree, digging out a seemingly a myriad of decorations, wreaths, holiday figurines, lights, ornaments and the necessary power cords. You know where all of them are stored. You tell me to go to the shelves in the corner of the garage, on the top shelf and a certain sized box is there. It’s always there. This takes the better part of 2 days, but it’s our tradition, and we do it together. The pure joy we share over a relaxing weekend of decorating the tree and house and wrapping a few presents gets better each year. It doesn’t get old. You make the holidays happy through New Years and the twelve days of Christmas. Then on the very next day after the twelvth day of Christmas, the tree comes down, I go outside and take down the lights and pack the boxes to be stored away until next year from Thanksgiving through the Twelve Days of Christmas. Mr darling Eve, without you this would be just an ordinary passage of time. You make our holidays festive and joyful.
Thank you for being, Kochany
