His Fathers Son
Kochana,
This morning as I was shaving, the man looking back at me looked very much like my father. The realization that the passing years had formed a son, who in his youth thought he would be his own man, in the same mold as his father was revealed in the looking glass image. Young men typically resist the idea that they will be like their dad, almost finding that thought anathama. The influences, teachings and examples of childhood, adolescense and early manhood, are ingrained deeply in our character and values. Dad passed away 9 years ago, but today was my first full understanding that my dad was still very much with me, in me and standing before me on the other side of the mirror. As I have become more like him, I am more comfortable, more myself, more at peace. It can be truly said of me, ‘he is his fathers’ son’ which can also be said of our Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ was also just like his Father God. He was amazed that the religious leaders of his day could be so blind to his early ministry. He was also disappointed at the hardness of their hearts as they ignored the signs (miraculous healings and resurrections) which proved beyond all doubt that he was in fact His Fathers Son’. The miracles he manifested through the power and in the likeness of his holy heavenly father, could only be explained as the Son of God doing the creation works of his Father God, i.e., like father like son. But more than the miracles, the power of his teachings and the authority in which he delivered his message identified him as His Fathers’ Son. He taught the underlying reasons for the law of God and lifted man above (man was not made for the law, the law was made for man) the limitations and hardships of incorrectly applied laws and the customs of religious leaders substituted for the law God gave to Moses. In Christ we are sons of God (sons for god created man, male and female created He them). To the great rage of our eternal enemy satan in our Christian works and walk, we are our Fathers’ Son. It is written, ‘we shall be like Him’ (Jesus Christ). As we follow God in Christ, live the principles he teaches, align our will to His and ‘study to show ourselves approved before God (II Timothy 2:15) we become more like Him (our Lord Jesus Christ). Again it is written, “1.Behold what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the Sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. 2. Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it does not yet appear what we shall be; but we know that when He shall appear we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. 3. And every man that has this hope in him, purifies himself even as He is pure.” (I John 3: v. 1, 2, 3). In that thought we shall be forever His children of whom it shall be said, ‘He is His Fathers’ Son’.
We are becoming more like our Father God for Christ is in us, Kochany
