Living Life to the Fullest

My precious Eve,

The heavy yoke of communism brought poverty to the majority of Poles who refused to become members of the communist political party. Being a communist party member was required for every government post or any other influential position in Poland from 1946 until 1989 when the Russian communist economy imploded. Every occupied eastern European nation and Ukraine struggled to support the tremendous expense of the occupying Russian army and secret police required to prop up the weak puppet governments placed in power by Russian militarists. It takes a standing army to hold any nation in subjection against their will. To feed their army and secret police, the government took too much of the food that farmers produced.  The farmers were hungry and the nation was starving. The wise Poles did as Antoni and Antonina. They had a garden, fruit trees, chickens and a milk cow. Farmers would hide sheep, cows, corn, and wheat from government agents that required them to give a certain quota of their crops to the government. Antonina and the wives across Poland worked in secret circles to trade with the farmers for food. When a government taxes its citizens excessively, an underground market is always the result. Antoni and Antonina worked hard and wisely managed their meager income allowed by the communists. It was a daily struggle to keep their home and raise their three children. Under the duress of every day life in communist Poland, Antonina always managed to find time to relax and spend quality time with her husband and children. She was the heart and soul of their home and she taught her children to enjoy life each day in the midst of the many struggles of life. She taught her dream to her children by her words, her unrepressed spirit, her zeal for living life to its fullest and her willingness to work for the best that life could offer her family and herself. She and her husband Antoni were wealth builders. Together they could produce income even in the suppressive, stagnant socialist economy. Every family has both wealth creators and wealth wasters. Antoni and Antonina were wealth creators. Having Antonina as his wife was the greatest wealth of Antoni. She made him the wealthiest man on earth. Together, they lived life to the fullest.

You make me the wealthiest man on earth, Kochany
