Antonina – Wife, Mother, Friend – Mona Lisa of Marzenie

Antonina was everything to those of us who knew and loved her. To your father she was wife, best friend, mother of his children and life companion. She was all that he needed to face what ever a new day brought their way. She was the most beautiful woman in the world to him. When your family watched American movies at Christmas, your father told you that your mother looked like a movie star when they were younger. As long as he lived, she always looked like a movie star to him. To Ewa,  she was mamush (mommy) who wiped away every tear, tucked her in bed at night, shared her secrets, bandaged her cuts, scrapes and bruises and listened to her fears, concerns, hopes and expectations. You could tell her anything and she always gave good council.   She knew everything a daughter could ask or be concerned about. She warned you when you entertained thoughts or ideas which she knew would not turn out best for you, but she stood with you when you reaped the results of bad decisions. She was always proud of you and never ashamed of you. You were always certain of her love. She was the nearest thing to God in your life for she aligned her will with the will of the Most High God who blessed her with all things good and blessed. She was more lovely than the Mona Lisa of Da Vinci. Her hands which worked in the garden, prepared meals, cleaned the house, changed baby diapers, brushed your hair, washed your clothes and responded to every need that arose in your life are more beautiful than the hands of the famous Da Vinci portrait. She was tough when need required toughness, she was strong when her family was threatened, she was wise when confusion clouded good judgement and she was always tender, delicate and understanding when those she loved looked to her for guidance, council or a warm hug. Most of all Antonina  was a woman in love. Antoni was her only and one true love. She needed and wanted no other man. Antoni was her one and only man. One can see the tenderness in her eyes and the gentleness of her facial expression as an angel of God. She pledged herself to her husband and lived her pledge every day of her life. She loved her children, her family and her friends. All who knew her, experienced purity of friendship untarnished by ungodly motives. She loved God and steadfastly worshipped with regular attendance at church and service in the needs of the poor and needy. She gave everything at her disposal to those God gave to her. She was a woman of noble character. Ruth 3:11 says, “And now, my daughter, don’t be afraid. I will do for you all you ask. All the people of my town know that you are a woman of noble character.” She was also strong in character, Proverbs 12:4 says “A wife of noble character is her husband’s crown,” She was wise. Proverbs 14:1 says, “The wise woman builds her house,“. She was a good wife. Proverbs 18:22 says, “He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the LORD.” Proverbs 31:11 says, “Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value.” She was a gift of God to her husband, her children and all who kew her. Proverbs 19:14 says “Houses and wealth are inherited from parents, but a prudent wife is from the LORD”. She was truly more lovely than the Mona Lisa of Da Vinci. She was a Mona Lisa sent by God to bless our lives with love, hope, truth and happiness. We knew her as mamush (mommy) but she is always the Mona Lisa of our lives painted from the pallet of the Most High God with the eternal brush of holiness, righteousness and truth. My precious Eve, you also are all these things to me. All that your mother was to your father, you are to me. To me you are the most beautiful of them all. You are a gift of God to me. I love you, my darling Ewa. You are the Mona Lisa of my life.

Let us give thanks to God for the beauty he adds to our lives, Kochany
