Peace in the Valley
To Ewa, you share all my mountaintop experiences,
We live in tumultuous times. Uprisings, protests, revolutions and war are always at some place in the world. Everyone is trying to reach the top or be number one. There is more space in the valley than on the apex of the mountain. No one can live comfortably on the top of a mountain. It’s too restrictive, to isolated, too limited and too cold for habitation. The comforts are in the valley, with friendships, neighbors and the interactions with other caring acquaintances. This is true of goals and accomplishment as it is of the physical world. Alas the only place to find peace is in the valley. Remember when we first met and our love was new? We were on the mountaintop. Emotion, romance and desire ran at a fever pitch. For all the ecstasy and pleasure, there was always an element of uncertainty and emptiness when we were apart. We lived in constant expectation of our next lunch, movie, dinner or chance encounter. As great as those early days were, the life we share now is by far superior. As our love has matured, it is more like a peaceful valley. The valley is where things grow. In our home, we live out all the hopes, dreams, plans and expectations of our mountaintop experiences. We live out our destiny in the valley. All that we need and want is found in each other and our beloved Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We no longer climb the mountain to seek our dreams for we have found our mountain top hopes in the valley of everyday life together. God has given us His peace and joy to cement our love and glorify His Holy Name. In his promises we always have peace in the valley of life.
All my love to you my darling, Kochany
