She Doesn’t See Herself as Lovely as I See Her

Dearest Eve,

Day six of our Alaska cruise we were at sea, the temperature was a warm 78 degrees and our Captain again told us how unusual 100% visibility days are for any Alaska endeavor. He told us that some of our passengers had experienced sunburn (highly unusual on Alaska Cruises) and cautioned us to use sun screen on deck and around the pools. After 4 consecutive days of rapid fire activity, we casually strolled on deck, took our daily walk on the promenade with several other couples and enjoyed the whirlpool. Our fellow tourists were equally at peace as our ship steamed south toward Vancouver Island. This was the last day of sales at the shops on the 5th and 6th floors. I suggested we visit the shops for some last minute ‘we can’t live without it’ bargains. Ewa found a few more items at deep discount. When I watch her shop it is even more obvious just how lovely my Ewa is. The way she moves, even around a table of merchandise, still holds my attention. She looks up from her shopping now and then and smiles reassuringly at me. Then, quickly, she is lost again in the endless quest for the ultimate bargain. If any woman can find it, she will! Most High God, Marvelous Heavenly Father, you did a most excellent work in our Ewa. Let me never fail her! May your servant always meet those needs she can and should enjoy from me, your humble servant. I was looking for her when you brought her to me. You knew my heart and her heart and you trusted us with each other. Glorify your name by enabling us to fulfill that mission you appropriated to us in our time. May we rest in your peace and may our union be a place where you are at rest as well. This is only possible with your guidance and presence in our lives. We love you Holy Father. I thank you for our Ewa. She is beautiful but she doesn’t see herself as lovely as I see her.
