She’s Right 99 Percent of the Time

“This isn’t the right way” she warned. “Yes it is. Follow me and we won’t be late for dinner, “I replied. Our dinner was at 5:30 pm and we preferred to be prompt. This time she was right again. I was mistaken and had led us in the wrong direction. We stepped into an elevator to get down to the 5th floor. It was packed with other hungry people going to dinner. As the doors closed, I said to the gentleman beside me, “Well she’s right again.  She’s right about 99 per cent of the time.” Not a man said a word, but every wife instantly laughed in agreement and one woman said, ” You don’t hear a man admit that often.” The elevator stopped at the 6th floor and one couple exited. As the doors closed a gentleman put his arm back in to stop the door and prevented its’ closing. He looked at me and said, “You’re going to have to stop lying about that 1 per cent.” Even the men laughed. Ewa had successfully redirected our path and we arrived ahead of schedule. My Ewa is a compass that always points true north. She has an uncanny ability to navigate the uncertain waters of our life. However, in spite of the joke at my expense, she isn’t right 100 percent of the time. Often I remind her that ‘sometimes I am right.’ (The law of averages is in my favor!) Our God is right 100 per cent of the time. In most cases her decisions are aligned with the perfect will of the Most High God. That’s why she is right with such a high level of certainty. It was apparent when we met that she was not merely sent of God but one with God. Human frailties and sinful tendencies aside, she is a Human compass that points true north. It seems like she’s right 99 percent of the time.

Walking through our days together completes us, Kochany
