The Hot and Cold of It All
Eve, my Kochana,
Physical laws of the universe always operate as expected. Water freezes or boils in ranges above and below a certain temperature and between those points it is a liquid. All elements have a gaseous, liquid and solid state. The laws of gravity, inertia, magnetism, electricity, etc. are fundamental to the world as we know it. The physical laws must operate in exactly the same manner in every instance to support human, animal and plant life.
The identical principles apply to spiritual laws. A living spiritual relationship requires a garden like relationship of peace and harmony existant in a fluid state after the manner of water in the physical. Just as fish can’t swim in a frozen lake and would cease to exist in a boiling pond, man in his spiritual expression must walk between the two extremes. The existence of either permanent extreme is evidence of crisis which produces death/separation from God the life source, without a life change and forgiveness which restores the flow of expression and communication between God the Father and His Creation, man. Our walk and talk with God is to be fluid (liquid as water), with a free flow of thought, expression and passion. God has feelings like man, for it is written, ‘let us create man in our image’. Since we were created in His image, let us glorify His Holy Name with our reverence and conduct, that we are not hot (in danger of judgement) or cold (an enemy of God).
In Revelations 2:15 Christ tells the church of Laodicea, “because you are not hot or cold, I will spue you our of my mouth”. This is evidence of how God will judge all who, with a stiff neck, refuse his ardent call to each person to align their will with His. The folks in the Laodicean church were luke warm (indifferent) and we must understand that this is the state of a christian who back slides and refuses all the appeals of the holy spirit to repent and restore a healthy life giving relationship with God. Indifference in a christian is an unacceptable state for God and He will certainly sever the servant, until repentance and restoration or cast that servant out into ‘outer darkness” if obstinance persists. Proverbs 29:1 says, ‘He, that being often reproved hardens his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.’
May we walk together in his grace and flow of His life giving spirit now and ever more.
All my love as I share His love with you, In Christ, Kochany
