The Sweet Waters of Lake Huron

Dear Eve,

We were visiting family in Canada and Basia took us to a beautiful National Park situated on Scenic Lake Huron. We boarded a tour boat which took us to the worlds largest sweet water island. The view was pristine with nature untainted by the progressive hand of man. There was no polution in the air, on the land or in the water. We hiked up several hills and after an hour we found ourselves standing on the shore of the cold and crystal clear lake. It is known as the Sweetwater Sea.

The sights and sounds of Canada’s Bruce Peninsula on Lake Huron are clear waters chasing up sandy beaches and rippling through mazes of reefs and islands; Osprey screaming and circling overhead; piping plovers darting for insects along the shore; lake sturgeon, lake trout and walleye gliding through the cool, deep water; thousand year-old cedar trees surviving at the edge of sheer limestone cliffs; moss- and lichen-encrusted alvars baking in the sun; red-winged blackbirds bobbing on cattails in sprawling wetland complexes. It is a scenic coastal landscape painted by the hand of Creator God.

Kochana and Basia wanted to swim but we had no place to change into our bathing suits. Since we were alone on the beach the ladies decided to change behind some big rocks and I did the same. The ladies giggled like school girls in mischief. We waded out into the lake and Basia said that Japan had tried to contract with Canada for ship loads of lake sweet water to sell as a bottled drink. Then Basia took a drink of the waters as we were swimming and encouraged Ewa and myself to have a taste. After Kochana drank and the two women chided me mercilessly, I submitted and I was surprised at how fresh, pure and sweet the very waters in which I swam tasted. We laughed as we swam but we drank no more of Lake Huron Water. With Kochana in my life there are many other spontaneously activities in my day like swimming and drinking the sweet waters of Lake Huron.

Drink with me of the sweet waters of life, Kochany
