They Came for the Free Stuff

My one and only Ewa,
It is sad to observe the growing tendency in our nation and world to reach out shamefully for the free stuff of modern civilization in preference to earning their living in honest work. The increase in families capable of supporting themselves who alter their life style to qualify for taxpayer funded government handouts is a sad commentary to the depth to which our citizens have sunk in depravity. Deciding to live like a parasite on the backs of the working population is disgraceful, despicable and dishonorable. Like ancient Rome who fed the masses with free wheat and distracted the poor and lazy with gladiators in the colosseum, the modern world is destined for the same sad fate, as we sink deeper and deeper in financial and moral bankruptcy. The unthinking masses do not understand (nor do they care) that their governments fund the so called free stuff out of the public coffers, by issuing debt which can never be repaid. The small percentage of rich people (the 1%) do not have enough wealth to redistribute to provide for the needs of the non-working poor. The government is forced to print money which reduces the value of the fiat currency. This results in the poor becoming poorer, at the same time reducing incentive to create personal and public wealth. In truth, moral bankruptcy precedes financial bankruptcy. When man lives for today with no thought for tomorrow, he will always fail to achieve the potential for accomplishment and contribution to himself, family, friends and society. This moral cancer of shamelessness, laziness and hopelessness is exemplified in the earthly ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ when he fed the masses. In John 6:26 – 28 Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, you are looking for me not because you saw the signs I performed but because you ate the loaves and had your fill. Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For on him, God the Father has placed his seal of approval”. Then they asked him, “What must we do to do the works God requires?” We can see the love of Jesus in his frankness with those seeking the true Word of God. Many were ignorantly existing from day to day with no knowledge of eternal instruction, understanding and wisdom. We are given instruction and warning in Hosea 4:6-7, “My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being my priest. Since you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children. The more they multiplied, the more they have sinned against me; I will change their glory into shame.” This was true in the day of Hosea the prophet and it is also true today. When men put forth their hand for free stuff instead of receiving from the hand of God by working for a living, they trade all personal satisfaction and accomplishment for shame. Men were not created to live as depraved parasites, groveling for a free handout. We were instructed by God to dress and keep (work) our God assigned individual garden of being. We are to pull the weeds of ungodliness to allow the holy seeds of spiritual works to grow unhindered by evil desire, acts and emptiness. Let us pray for the lost souls, who ignore the instruction of God Most High in search of a life of ease which always brings slavery, for they become slaves when their complacency becomes ignorance. Even the crowd that Jesus reprimanded for returning for the loaves asked, “What must we do to do the works God requires?” Let us never desire the free stuff of the devil (nothing the devil gives is free for a great price must be paid and that is death.) Instead may we always reach out to God in faith that we may receive the spiritual food which yields life everlasting.

I love you my Kochana. Be mine always, Kochany
