My Eva,
To Eat or not to eat, that is the question. When my mind needs clarity and my spirit requires focus, a one to three day fast has always been a good strategy in curtailing those physical distractions and demands for expression which interfere with understanding. As you know my 16th complete reading of the Word of God is now in full throttle. Currently the Lord and I are in the book of Exodus and God is relating to Moses the design of the Tabernacle in the Wilderness, the Arc of the Covenant, and every aspect of worship and furnishings. This re-read finds me embroiled in deeper thought as I search for the correct approach and sincerity of man to the Most High God. In a study of the inspired Words of our Holy God, who can only receive us when we come to Him with a pure heart and truth seeking mind, we find the deeper truths of our loving God when we rightly divide the Word of God. We study because God said, “come let us reason together.” He is a God of reason and we are made in His logical image. To clear my mind of carnal desires (ungodly bodily pleasures and appetites), I am fasting today and my mind is set on attaining a better understanding of the meaning of the symbolism of the Tabernacle in the Wilderness. God shows us the unseen reality of the spirit, which we cannot otherwise know, with figurative examples of physical life which we experience. Knowledge produces understanding, understanding yields wisdom and wisdom improves our daily walk with our God Most High. What we read determines the knowledge we impart to our mind which feeds our spirit. What we read can be either a blessing or a curse. Moses said to the Israelites, Deuteronomy 30:19: “this day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, a blessing and a curse. Now choose life so that you and your children may live”. Each day the table of our mind is set with both righteousness and evil, blessings and curses. We must choose those truths which are spiritual food and reject those which are spiritual poison. Only the Word of God will sustain us. All the poisons of satan and the evil desires of the flesh separate us from God and bring about death. Today let us be wise in our selection of every choice set before us at the table of our human appetites. What to eat or what not to eat; that is the real question.

May we hunger and choose those ideals which will nourish our lives, Kochany
