During the Polish Revolution in the late 1970’s the Poles had a strange rallying cry’ ‘Two plus two equals four’. This would seem an unlikely slogan for a unifying movement which would ultimately overthrow the crumbling Soviet Union. Those unfortunate souls who lived behind the iron curtain of Russian Communism were subjected to massive doses of propaganda. The news media was censored. Every noncomunist view, ideal and even entertainment was supressed. The control and oppression of the official communist news agency, Pravda (meaning truth) became so intense that basic truths were redefined, bent, expounded and taught. This is the equivalent to saying that two plus two equals a quantity other than four. Impossible? Not in the communist news agency. Polish citizens in the Solidarity movement overthrew the puppet communist government which willingly governed by the instruction of Russian dictates. Solidarity began with truth and restoration of Polish tradition and ideals. It was good to be Polish! A proud people stood together, united in the cause of individual freedom in opposition to the false collective freedom of communist idealogy. Many Poles fled the country due to the persecution of the oppressive government. America is better for their arrival to our shores. I am better for your presence in my life. America was founded on the principle that two plus two equals four plus freedom of speech and religion.
However, Kochana when we met one plus one equalled one. This is a godly principle which is above all the laws of man, regarding the union of a man and woman. We became two in one. When I am not with you, yet you are still with me and visa versa. So I give thanks that solidarity brought you to me so that we could be one in solidarity. The paradox is that while it is true that, with us, one plus equals one; it remains forever true that two plus two equals four.My love and solidarity is with you Kochana, your Kochany
Two Plus Two Equals Four
