We Found the Real Starbucks Number One

My coffee mate Ewa,

We arrived in Seattle a day before our planned cruise so we decided to take the Light Rail to the Pike Place Market . We arrived just before the shops closed at 6:00 PM but restaurants and coffee shops were all open late. Starbucks number 1 was opened in 1971 as a coffee-bean roaster and retailer. It is my favorite coffee and I have my morning coffee there 2 or 3 times each week. Kochana bought an insulated coffee cup for travel with a photo of the original store at 1912 Pike Place Market and the 1971 date of opening for business. It was jam packed with Starbucks connoisseurs of fine coffee from all over the globe; Japanese, Chinese, Australians, Canadians and Americans of course to name a few. There were no tables to sit and sip your drink but just 5 blocks down the street was another Starbucks where you could surf the internet, read a book or newspaper like your neighborhood store. We took some photos of tourists, customers, merchandise and staff and left with a grande iced green tea sweetened with two raw sugars. The coffee tastes the same as it does at home or any other place in the world where Starbucks coffee is served. Having visited the original Starbucks it is apparent that the real Starbucks Number 1 is our own local neighborhood coffee shop. The Baristas at our Starbucks are friendly and they know when we walk in what we drink and exactly how we prefer it. By visiting the Starbucks Number 1 in Seattle, we discovered where the real Starbucks Number 1 is located; right in our own locality. How often we settle for better when we have the best at hand. Kochana you are the best to me and you will always be number one for me.

We don’t settle for better because we have the best at hand, Kochany
