What Did You Learn
My sweetheart Eve, whose attention I dearly need, (You listen to me even when you have little or no interest)
On 29 June 2012, I completed my 15th complete journey through the Holy Word of the Most High God. My quest began on 11 January 2012 and the last chapter of Revelation was read yesterday 29 June. This time I read every word orally and standing. This is the second time to read every word out loud and standing. It is my intent to read before God and all the angels as a testimony of my devotion to our Creator. When my reading was complete, you asked, “what did you learn this time?” Much. Usually though, I’m asked ‘why I have read it so many times’. My reason for this is to know God better so that I can continually become more like Him. (As you well know my darling, I have a long way to go) The US Treasury Department trains their team to recognize real money so well that the counterfeit bills are obvious. The Holy Spirit teaches in this manner, revealing only spiritual food from the Tree of Life. The more we read the Word of God, the better acquainted we become with His true charachter. The better acquainted we are with His attributes and laws the more enlightened we become and we are more and more like Him. Growing in knowledge requires study. The appostle Paul said, “study to show yourself approved, rightly dividing the Word of God.” Wisdom is derived from meditation and after ingesting the Word of God we chew the cud of contemplation as we recall the new revelations and apply them to our daily lives. Knowledge like our marriage must be refreshed. We all need refreshment or we become stale like old tasteless bread. Since the Word of God is the Bread of Life (Jesus was the Word made flesh) we perpetually restore life by eating only from the Word of God as revealed through the Son Jesus Christ. Those who increase in knowledge are no more saved than those who study not, for all who receive Jesus Christ as their personal savior are secure in the precious arms of God. However when we read and re-read the scriptures, the teachings of Jesus and the warnings of the prophets become more alive with each repetition. Learning is repetition. The prophet Isaiah tells us how we learn, “For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, here a little, there a little.” (Isaiah 28:10) The Bible is the letter of the law and it is the record of the successes and failures of the people of God in correctly applying, misinterpreting, ignoring and perverting (sinning) the mind of God. There is no life in the letter unless it is read, studied and understood. But it is not enough to just read the Word. (Many read but few apply the new mantra and thus align their will with the life giving will of God.) As we read, the holy spirit reveals to us the mysteries hidden from the thinking of natural man. Then the lifeless letter, when internalized becomes wisdom and understanding yielding the fruit of life. We were given minds, hearts and spirits like the Lord God Almighty. I am thankful that your inquisitive mind is attentive to my need to search and explore the scriptures, for in so doing our God is increasingly able to speak to us and guide us unto life everlasting. We live in a world filled with deception, (‘the devil goes about as a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour’, i.e. destroy/deceive), so we need to know God and His Way, lest we miss the signs of the second coming of Jesus Christ for He instructed us to, “Watch! For you know not when He will return”.
“Even so, come Lord Jesus.”
The reading of Gods’ sweet Word is its’ own reward, Kochany
