You Gave Me an iPad for My Birthday

Ewa, My birthday planning wife,

You told me that you were going to give me an iPAD for the anniversary of my birthday. You said, “It would run seamlessly with my Apple Laptop Computer and my iPhone”. Since we already own Apple products and know personally their high quality and reliability, I was pleased to go to the 30 April launch at the local Apple Store. I was early and stood in line for several hours with a long line of Apple enthusiasts; all satisfied owners of Steve Jobs’ innovations and cutting edge technology. I was third in line. Rarely do I get excited about a purchase but the cue outside the Apple Store was charged with excitement. One young man was back for a second iPad. At the iPad Wi-Fi launch he surprised his wife with an iPad for himself. She was upset but she watched as he searched his e-mails, surfed the internet, down loaded his favorite music, downloaded the pictures from his iPhone and opened his Facebook account as he was watching the evening news. After he set his iPad aside on the second day, his wife picked up the object of her displeasure and began surfing, e-mailing, and paying bills on line. The next two days his wife, who arrived home before him, had his iPad as they watched the evening news. When she finished, she handed it to him. He told her on the fourth day that he didn’t want to wait until she was finished with his iPad and she told him that she liked this iPad, she had it set up with all her e-mail addresses, favorites and music. She had also synced it with their Laptop and downloaded her pictures. She told him to buy a new iPad because ‘this one is mine’. What a wonderful turn of events for both of them. He happily surrendered his treasure. Now he could go to the iPad G3 Launch and get the full capability with her in full agreement. I relate this real life story to say to you how much I appreciate your generosity and insight into the heart, mind and soul of your man. At first, I thought that we didn’t need another computer. You reminded me that I could download ebooks, type my blog, surf the internet, get my emails and pay bills online and besides all that, you said that you wanted me to have an ‘iPad’. The rest is history. You always seem to know those things which will please me the most. It troubles me at times because I get flustered when I’m selecting a gift for you. But you seem to know me better than I know myself at times. You knew that an iPad was the best gift for me at this juncture of our lives. Thank you for your unfailing insight. But Ewa, my Kochana, as good as this gift was, it is a fact known to God and all His angels, that you are the greatest gift that you ever gave to me. Since you gave yourself to me, my life has been complete, for you give all of yourself everyday to me and us. You are the gift of all gifts to me and that will never change. I didn’t have to stand in line for you but I had waited all my life for our Lord to bring us together. You are not only the object of my affections but the reason for my affections. Be mine for always. I love you with all my heart. Every unknowing part of me is certain that all will be better with you. Walk with me through this life on earth and continue to be my own, for you give to me, each day, the sweet nectar of your affections and you gave me an iPad for my birthday.
